Tom Byers, Michael Strauss and Jared Rosen Promoted

Effective January 1, 2012, Thomas A. Byers, CPA has been promoted to Director in the Tax Department. In addition, Michael A. Strauss, CPA has been promoted to Director and Jared A. Rosen, CPA, MBA has been promoted to Principal in the Audit, Accounting, and Consulting Department.

With more than 32 years of experience as a CPA, Mr. Byers heads the firm's Estate Tax Planning and Compliance Group. In addition to working with clients to advise them on tax ramifications of business transactions, he is also responsible for helping clients define their personal and estate tax goals. A graduate of Elizabethtown College, Mr. Byers also holds a Master of Taxation degree from the University of Baltimore and has successfully completed the College of Financial Planning's Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) Professional Education Program, holding the CFP® designation.

Mr. Strauss provides financial reporting, tax, compliance and management advisory services to privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He is the Chairperson of the firm's Audit and Accounting Technical Standards Committee and a member of the firm's Construction, Not-for-Profit and Employee Benefit Plan Services Groups. Mr. Strauss is a graduate of The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and has 13 years of experience in the public accounting profession.

Mr. Rosen, who has 11 years of experience in the public accounting profession, provides financial reporting, tax and management advisory services to privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He is also a specialist in employee benefit plan services and as such, is leader of the firm's Employee Benefit Plan Services Group. Mr. Rosen is additionally a member of the firm's Technical Standards Committee. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University Maryland.
